Recent 5 week rambling voyage through Italy yielded a lot of writing and very little in the drawing/ photography area. It can be hard to take good shots when your car is stuck in 6 inches of snow on the side of an uninhabited mountain in Tuscany and you have to get to Rome to catch a plane that evening.
Florence was everything Merchant Ivory promised me, and Venice surpassed my expectations. The misty sub-zero mornings and the evening glow from the gondola lanterns against dusky pink skies kinda did it for me. All the bridges and canals are really fairly pretty.
A couple of the photos I'll put up here are taken by my father (they're the good ones, usually) or are joint photos, as we are wont to do.
